The Weekend: Held by the meeting of mountain & water, this immersion will explore the means to finding inner peace through a core yogic principle, the fusion of steady effort with the freedom of letting go. Applying an open investigation to that which is solid and that which is fluid, Amy offers a spacious, contemplative pace threading together well-rounded sequences that include restorative practices, pranayama, meditation & inquiry.
Dharana & Dhyana are the 6th & 7th limbs of Yoga’s Eight Fold Path to uncover one’s truenature. These 2 limbs are key to integrating the benefits of yoga’s physical practices. They invite us to deepen our practice through an intentional inward focus and quieting of the nervous system. From dhar literally meaning “to support” and na means “the eternal cosmic vibration”. Dharana describes cultivating a steady mind. Dhyana or meditation, is an expression of absorption and a fluid awareness stream funneled naturally through Dharana. Much of the joy and peace of yoga can be found here…
